Puppy Time!
Posted on October 26, 2013
Sometimes you just need to get out there and take some photos of the furry mammals in your life, because they brighten your day and love you unconditionally. Our family dog, Tina, is the best. Loyal, loving, and silly, she can brighten even the most melancholy of days by forcibly putting her head in your lap and refusing to give up until you pet her.
This was a hard week for me, so on Tuesday I took Tina outside, about 6 treats in hand, and had a little mini photo shoot with her. I love how they came out!
This next one is my favorite! She happened to yawn as she was looking at a squirrel and her expression was just perfect!
Tina is the best!
Kaitlyn UM Grad School Graduation: Downtown Delray, South Florida Portrait Session
Posted on October 21, 2013
My good friend Kaitlyn is graduating from the University of Miami (my alma mater) in December with her Master’s Degree, so we celebrated with a portrait session for her graduation announcements. This gal is one of the best people I know and she’s gorgeous to boot! It made my job super easy.
We began in Downtown Delray, a place I love to shoot. There are just so many different hidden places to explore.
The photo above has a meaning behind it that I think is fun to share. Kaitlyn is graduating with her degree in “Arts Presenting,” which is essentially music business for live venues. She knows a ton about the music industry and is an incredible singer herself. When we saw the “Invest in your arts center” sign, we just had to grab a pic!
Lastly, we headed over to the beach for some more relaxed photos. Kaitlyn got to take her heels off and play in the waves. I’ll admit it– I may have had my feet in the water too. It was a gorgeous evening!
The bittersweet part about this session is that it means that Kaitlyn will be moving back to Texas soon. I am going to miss her a lot, but I am also extremely proud of her and all she has accomplished. The world will see great things to come from this awesome woman!
PraiseFest 2013
Posted on October 18, 2013
My dad, Carl Foster, is a phenomenal event planner and marketer. There isn’t anything this man can’t do. He is also a man of God, and those two passions were united when he was brought on as the event manager for PraiseFest 2013. When I was asked to be the official photographer for PraiseFest, I knew I couldn’t say no. It was an honor to be part of something so great.
The event was held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Meyer Amphitheater in Downtown West Palm Beach. The event brought together believers for a full day of faith, family, fellowship, fun, and of course, music! The lineup featured so many wonderful Christian musicians and speakers, and I continued to be impressed with the faithfulness and talent of everyone there.
Thes best part of the day for me was actually the night time, when the Jessica Aaron Band and Kerrie Roberts performed. Both girls are beautiful, talented, women of the Lord– and super nice!

My little brother actually worked the event all day with us, and he was rewarded when both Jessica Aaron and Kerrie Roberts fell in love with him (like everyone does ‘cuz he’s awesome) and took a photo with him before performing together for their candlelight closing song.

The first annual PraiseFest was fantastic and I know that next year it will be even bigger and better. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for this great event!

Michelle Class of 2014: Downtown Delray, South Florida Portrait Session
Posted on September 29, 2013
I am going to start this post with a warning: there are about to be a LOT of photos in this post. I just can’t help myself. Michelle’s senior session was just so darn fun and she’s gorgeous. Seriously, the camera loves her!
I’ve known Michelle since she was about 4 years old (Eep! That makes me old.) and as soon as I knew I was going to be doing her senior portraits, I was ecstatic. It has been such a joy to watch Michelle blossom into the young woman she is today. Not only is Michelle beautiful on the outside, she is a kick butt volleyball player with a heart of gold.
Michelle wanted to go for a more urban feel for her senior session, and one of my favorite local urban areas is Downtown Delray Beach on Atlantic Avenue. There is just such a charm to the area and there are also a ton of different locations to try. The photos above were taken at the historic Old School Square Museum building, a cultural arts icon in the city.
Of course Michelle’s naturally fun and vibrant personality always shines through!
Next it was time for a style change! From girly and pretty to modern rock.
Love this girl’s style!
The Pineapple Grove Arts District made for the perfect backdrop for some more edgy photos. I am in love with this series!
When I asked Michelle was her favorite dessert was, she enthusiastically shouted, “Ice cream!” So of course, we headed to the iconic Kilwin’s to get some of the best.
After ice cream, it was time to take advantage of the uniqueness of living in South Florida– Atlantic Avenue leads right down to a beautiful beach! And when we got there, the light was incredible.
I seriously could not have asked for more! The sun, the sky, the sea grass– it was all perfect!
Last, but certainly not least, we decided to show off Michelle’s rocking volleyball skills. This girl has already been signed since her junior year to play college volleyball. She dominates!
Thank you so much, Michelle for allowing me to capture your senior portraits. You are an amazing young woman and I know the world has great things planned for you!

Salemme Family: Delray Beach Family Session
Posted on August 12, 2013
I’ve known the Salemme family since I was just 16 years old. Thyme was my high school math tutor, and for the past 11 years I have watched her beautiful family continue to grow. Now there are six Salemme kiddos, plus mom, dad, & grandma!
For the Salemme’s session, we headed to Atlantic Dunes Park in Delray Beach because it offers the best of South Florida: beautiful, lush trees, the sand, the ocean, and plenty of room for everyone. One of the things I loved most about this session was getting individual shots of each of the kids. They range in age from seventeen all the way down to three, and they all have such distinct personalities!
I couldn’t forget about mom and dad! Even with six children to care for, Mark and Thyme are still such an adorable couple.
Next we had some fun with different family groupings.
Capturing a family of nine was such a neat experience for me, especially because the Salemme’s are just super, super awesome! The love they have for each other is evident as you watch them interact and I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to have done their portraits.
Thank you to all of you!
Kelly Moore Chapel Convertible Backpack Review
Posted on August 9, 2013
The other day I told you about my Epiphanie camera bag, and so today I want to tell you about the bag I actually use on a daily basis, the Kelly Moore Chapel Convertible Backpack (my little brother took these photos again).
I bought this bag for a several big reasons:
1) I wanted a bag that I could wear on my back if I wanted to. Let’s face it, camera bags get heavy when you load them with gear and I knew the option of a backpack would help. I didn’t want a camera bag looking one though, so when Kelly Moore released this one, I couldn’t pass it up.
2) I also needed the bag to carry the basics I would need on a normal shoot; something like a family portrait session, engagement pictures, or a small/medium event. This bag carries my camera with 50mm 1.4 lens attached, plus one other lens, my flash, and all of my accessories. I love the organization offered by all of the different pockets (I’ll talk about that more in a minute) and it is truly a functional bag.
3) Lastly, I wanted a bag that didn’t look like a camera bag, but that I could wear while shooting. This fit the bill perfectly because of all the ways you can wear the bag. In the shot above, I am wearing it as a backpack, but it can also be worn messenger style or on your shoulder (I would normally take the straps I wasn’t using off, but I didn’t want to mess with them for these quick pics. That being said, the straps are super easy to take on and off, which is nice if you are the type of person to want to change them all the time).
Where this bag really shines, however, is in the inside.
The back of the bag has the “Posey Pocket,” an invention by Kelly Moore to allow her bags to carry SD/CF cards, credit cards, and more, all in an organized manner.
What I love most about this section of the bag are all the pockets within pockets. Seriously, it never ends!
The other amazing thing about this bag is that whole inside section that holds your gear comes out! Yes, the whole thing is one self contained unit, which means you can also use this bag as just a regular backpack if you want to. The light purple color inside makes it easy to find your gear, and the moveable padded dividers make the bag completely customizable.
I am seriously in love with my Chapel Backpack and I use it all the time. I keep most of my gear in it because I know it will be safe and ready to go. I would highly recommend Kelly Moore Bags to anyone looking for a quality, functional, stylish camera bag. They even make them for men now!
Make no mistake, I am not being compensated for this review and I paid for my Kelly Moore bag, I just love it so much that I want to share this with others who may be looking for a great camera bag.
