Carla: Ballet Portraits | Seattle, Queen Anne Portrait Session

I have been a bad photographer blogger and missed blogging all of my sessions from August to November. As such, I will be blogging these sessions throughout the next couple of months or so. This session is from Labor Day Weekend 2014.

TODAY is my sister’s 18th birthday!! And it is also the day she will finally be coming home for a visit!! I could not think of a better way to celebrate than finally blogging the mini sesh we did while I was in Seattle.

So as I’ve mentioned (check this post for more info), my sister, Carla is now living in Seattle and dancing in the professional training program with Pacific Northwest Ballet. At the end of August, I travelled there with her to help her move and get settled in her new city. Luckily, one of my very best friends happens to live in Seattle (Hey, Roma!), and she had years of knowledge to share with us, including this amazing location at the top of Queen Anne Hill overlooking downtown Seattle.

One of the best parts of this session was getting to shoot in a location that is so different from South Florida. Don’t get me wrong, I love living here, but like seriously– just look at these views!

This is session seriously rocked my socks. Not only did I get to capture my sister, but I fell in love with Seattle and can’t wait to travel there again soon. Also, shooting somewhere new was exhilarating and inspirational. Someone book me to travel soon!! It is seriously my fave (I will literally go anywhere you fly me, true story). =)

National Dance Day: Boynton Beach Inlet

Saturday, July 27th was National Dance Day, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate then to go and take some test pictures with my gorgeous sister.

We headed to the Boynton Beach Inlet Saturday evening, even though it had been raining all day and the weather didn’t look good. Luckily, the weather actually held up and the light was incredible!

First, we spent some time on the “land” side, experimenting with all the great trees that can be found in the park.

Next we headed to the beach side to take a few more shots with the ocean for our backdrop.

The inlet is a gorgeous location and I can’t wait to shoot there for in August for my End of Summer Mini Sessions!

Carla: Bethesda by the Sea Ballet Session

When I was 2 and a 1/2 years old, my mother put me in my first ballet/tap combo class in New York and I was hooked. Since then, dance has always been a passion of mine, so whenever I get a chance to photograph a dancer, I consider it a joy.

Carla is a dancer at Boca Ballet Studio and one of the most gorgeous dancers I have ever known. Okay, I will admit my bias: she is my little sister, but that doesn’t change the fact that she is so extremely talented and beautiful.

For her 16th birthday, we headed to Bethesda by the Sea, an Episcopal Church located on Palm Beach, for a ballet shoot in one of the prettiest locations I know.

See? I told you, gorgeous.

I am ridiculously proud of the dancer and person that she is becoming.

Thank you, Carla, for being the best little sister and model a photographer could ever ask for!
